This includes a sample of well to little known artists primarily featuring Impressionism, Classic Modernism, and Contemporay art.

Background:

I have always liked Impressionistic Art (especially Renior) from a young age, but grew to like certain older styles like those represented by Archimboldo and Bosch. I also enjoy contemporay artists such as Agam, Mondrian, and Grey.

My art tastes were forever changed when I met my good friend and artist Gil Griffoux in Paris, in 1988. Gil, a modern artist, introduced me to Classic Modernism, otherwise known as the 'Ecole de Paris' (includes influences of Cubism, Surealism, Modernism, etc...). The 'Ecole de Paris' existed from around the 1910's to 1950's and drew many artists and authors [i.e. Hemingway] from around the world. This prolific period influenced many artist's styles, including artists that weren't in Paris at that time, such as Klimt. Artists belonging to this school include well known artists such as Miro, Picasso, Chagall, Kandinsky, Klee, Delaunay, and Calder; as well as lesser known artists such as Viera Da Silva, Esteve, and Hayden. Parallels in their styles can clearly be seen.

The above link shows some of these artists (well and lesser known) and allows you to get a feel for my tastes in Art. My own private art collection includes: Unsigned and unmbered original Matisse lithographs, a Signed and numbered Alex Grey lithograph, a Signed and numbered Yaccov Agam lithograph, a Signed and numbered Henri Hayden Lithograph, a signed Patrick Irvine (unknown artist) Acrylic Modern Art painting, and a signed and numbered lithograph by my friend Gil Griffoux. I hope to add an Maurice Esteve lithograph to my collection soon.

Yes, I do my own artwork [including Pastels, Acrylic, and Wood sculpture], but I have yet to create a viewable online gallery. I promise I will get around to it, but for the time being I will honor the above artists first.

Enjoy! -Thor

p.s. I became familiar with Henri Hayden's work through another friend, who's aunt was married to Hayden. Back in 2000, I was honored to see a private collection of over 200 original works of his, in her appartement in Paris. She recently passed away in March of 2003, and we should see a great many of his works finally showing up in museums in the next few years.
