Hi, my name is Thor Torgenrud. I have hand coded all of these web pages using Notepad. There is heavy use of frames on the 'Technology' portion of my site. I have tried to make sure that most pages are in straight text, and graphic file sizes are optimized. Less graphics and straight text is faster to load onto your screen!

This web site is housed on a FreeBSD-Apache Web Server by Valai.net. I use mydomain.com to host the Tw3.org DNS files. My mail is delivered to my home where I have a Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server running Exchange 2000 SMTP Server, Outlook and OWA WebMail access, FTP, and Streaming Media Services. I use high-speed cable modem access, with a DHCP IP address for Internet access. If my connection fails, I fail-over to Valia.net for my second email account. Internally, this Server provides Domain, DNS, DHCP, Terminal, and File and Print Services. This Server runs on an Abit dual 433 Celeron processor Motherboard, has 640MB of RAM, and currently 16GB of Storage.

My internal network is made up of Windows 2000, Solaris 8i, FreeBSD, Linux Workstations, and two Staging Servers. My whole network is connected via 100Mbps Switched Ethernet.

In order to protect the LAN from Internet attacks, I have placed a FreeBSD4.4 Unix Firewall between the LAN and the cable modem. The beauty of this system is that it is robust, provides Network Address Translation, Port Redirection, while enforcing IP traffic restrictions. This has enabled me to provide a completely transparent and protected gateway to the Internet. For added security, I have used a non-routable IP address on my internal network.

This firewall also provides SSH services for remote administration, access, and testing. It runs on a Pentium 233MMX with 64MB of RAM, and has a 1GB HD, and two Ethernet adapters.
