The Browns Radio Network was inaugurated in 1946, where WGAR (1220 AM) started as their flagship station. Bob Neal did the play-by-play, while Stan Gee was the color commentator. The following year, Bill Mayer replaced Gee.
When the radio station changed to WERE in 1950, Neal single-handedly managed the show. With the entry of WTAM in 1952, Ken Coleman became the latest addition.
Similarly, Mayer returned in 1954 with WGAR once again taking the reigns. Bill McColgan joined him. A year later, Mayer exited, and Jim Graner joined.

Browns Monday Night Football announcers for the game against Pittsburgh Steelers on September 18 are Joe Buck, Troy Aikman, and Lisa Salters.
ABC will televise the game nationally at 8.15 p.m.
Buck will do the play-by-play commentary, with Aikman handling the role of an analyst. Salters will be the sideline reporter for the week two fixture at Acrisure Stadium.

Jim Donovan
Jim Donovan is a three-time Lower Great Lakes Emmy Award recipient from Boston, Massachusetts. He has been a lifelong sports anchor.
The 67-year-old is the current Sports Director at WKYC channel 3, also appearing as a news host. His affiliation with the NBC affiliate network commenced in 1986 after Jim Graner died in 1976.
It is because the channel tried six people over the course of ten years. The Boston University graduate joined as a sportscaster in 1985 and became the Channel 3 sports director a year later.
Likewise, Jim did play-by-play for NBC Sports’ NFL coverage for eleven years (1987-97). He added play-by-play for the Cleveland Browns Radio Network to his resume in 1999.
Donovan hasn’t looked back since then. He started with Doug Dieken and Casey Coleman. In 2006, Andre Knott joined and left after 2009.
Jamir Howerton joined the crew in 2010 and worked till 2014.
The 2023 season will be Jim’s 25th year. He will become the second longest-serving person on the radio network.
Nathan Zegura
Nathan took the role of the sideline reporter in 2014 and remained in the position till 2021. He was promoted to the commentator’s booth in 2022.

The new color commentator was hired to fill the spot of Doug Dieken, who served as an analyst from 1985 to 2021.
Zegura is also the Senior Media Broadcaster for the Browns.
Je’Rod Cherry
Cherry has been affiliated with the flagship radio station since 2009. He started as a talk show presenter and analyst in his initial days.
The 50-year-old is a former Strong Safety picked by the New Orleans Saints in the 40th place in the 1996 draft. He played for them till 1999.
In 2000, he played for the Eagles and joined the Patriots in 2001.
During his last run in the National Football League, he won Super Bowl XXXVI, XXVIII, XXXIX with Tom Brady and company.
The post-football career for the former California Golden Bears athlete saw him work as a broadcaster. He joined the pregame show as a host for the Browns Radio Network in 2013.
His role with the network changed once again in 2022. He will be entering his second year as a sideline analyst.

Cleveland Browns 850 ESPN goes by the callsign WKNR 850 AM. The network is one of the three flagship networks of the franchise. It falls under the ownership of Good Karma Brands.
Cleveland Browns radio network initiated its broadcast in 1926 as WLBV. From 1929 to 1985, it was labeled as WJW.
Similarly, in 1985, the company opted for WRMR, which lasted till 2001. The present call sign has been actively used since 3rd July 2001.
