Joanna Moore (November 10, 1934 – November 22, 1997) was an American actress who appeared in films and on television. The actress has featured in more than eighty television and film roles throughout the course of her professional life. Moore’s professional career reached its zenith in the 1960s. Over the course of that period, she appeared as a guest star on many famous television programmes of the day, including Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Perry Mason, and The Real McCoys. In one of her more famous recurrent appearances, she played Peggy “Peg” McMillan, Sheriff Andy Taylor’s love interest, in four episodes of The Andy Griffith Show from 1962 to 1963. Moore has appeared as a guest star on television westerns such as Wagon Train, Gunsmoke, The Rebel, and The Virginian, to name a few examples. By the 1970s, her professional life had begun to decline as a result of drug and alcohol problems. In 1986, she made her last on-screen appearance before passing away. Ryan O’Neal, an actor, was her husband from 1963 to 1967, and the couple had two children: Griffin and Tatum O’Neal. She got divorced in 1967. Moore passed away in 1997 due to lung cancer.
