Kirsty Gallacher Parents: Meet Bernard Gallacher, Lesley Gallacher

Kirsty Gallacher is a Scottish television presenter and sports journalist.

She is the daughter of Bernard Gallacher and Lesley Gallacher. Her father is a professional golfer.

In 1968, her father Bernard Gallacher was named Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year. Between 1974 and 1984, he won ten times on the European Tour and placed in the top ten on the European Tour Order of Merit five times, with a peak position of third in 1974.

Bernard Gallacher became the youngest man to represent Great Britain in the Ryder Cup in 1969, at the age of 20. He went on to participate in the Ryder Cup eight times and was the European Team’s non-playing captain in 1991, 1993, and 1995.

Gallacher joined the European Seniors Tour after turning 50. In 2002, he won his first senior title at The Mobile Cup.

Kirsty’s father, Bernard experienced a life-threatening cardiac arrest in 2013 while making a speech at an Aberdeen hotel.

Thankfully, Kirsty’s father recovered completely and just celebrated his 70th birthday with his family – but they still don’t know what caused the cardiac arrest.
