Who is Lindsay Greenbush? Wiki Bio

Rachel Lindsay Rene Bush was born in Hollywood, California USA, on 25 May 1970 – her zodiac sign is Gemini and she holds American nationality. Rachel is a former child actress, perhaps still best known for her portrayal of Carrie Ingalis in the western historical drama series “Little House on the Prairie” which aired from 1974 to 1983, and which starred Melissa Gilbert, Michael Landon, and Karie Grassle. It follows the Ingalis family living in the American Midwest in the 19th century. The series was a hit as it won 17 awards and was nominated for 42 others, including three Golden Globes.

Childhood and education

Lindsay was raised in Los Angeles alongside her identical twin sister Sidney Robyn Bush – Lindsay is the elder by three minutes – and the two appeared together in nearly all of their movies and TV series. The girls also have a brother named Clay who is an actor perhaps still best known for his roles in “Little House on the Prairie”, “Critters”, and “Elvis and Me”.The three children were raised by their mother Carole Kay Bush who was a housewife, and their father Billy Bush who was an actor perhaps best known for his performances in movies such as “Five Easy Pieces”, “Tom Horn”, and “Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore”.

Lindsay had her acting career launched when she was three, and she began taking acting lessons while attending elementary school.

She went on to study at Santa Monica High School, where she was a member of the school’s drama club and appeared in nearly all the plays performed there, while she was also physically active as she played soccer and tennis. Upon matriculation in 1988, she enrolled at Moorpark College, eventually switching to California State Lutheran University from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in accountancy.

Career as an actress

Lindsay’s acting career began 1973 when she was cast to portray Jill Hayden in the biographical drama movie “Sunshine”, which starred Christina Raines, Cliff De Young and Meg Foster, and which is about a woman living with her husband in a forest, who discover that their daughter is suffering from cancer.

Her next role came six years later when she played Carrie Ingalis in the family drama film “Little House Years”, which was both written and directed by and starred Michael Landon, alongside Karen Grassle and Melissa Gilbert. The plot follows the Ingalis family as they gather during the Thanksgiving holidays.

The year 1983 saw Lindsay appear as Butterfly in the eponymous episode of the crime mystery drama series “Matt Houston”, which starred Lee Horsley and Pamela Hensley and which is about a rich Texan who moves to California to work as a private investigator.

The series was nominated for three awards, including ae Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Film Editing for a Series. In the following year, Lindsay starred in the short family film “A Shortstop Away” which was directed by Elisabeth White, written by Tara Langton, and also starred Cuyle Carvin.

In 1991, Lindsay played Carrie Ingalis in the biographical documentary film “Michael Landon: Memories with Laughter and Love” which was directed by Michael Landon Jr. and stared Melissa Gilbert and David Canary.

Lindsay then took a 16 years break – not unusual for child actors – before her next appearance on TV in an episode of the news talk show “Weekend Today” hosted by Dylan Dreyer; the show won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement in a Craft: Electronic Camerawork in 2001.

Her following appearance came in 2014, as herself in the documentary movie “The Little House Phenomenon: A Place in Television History” which starred Melissa Sue Anderson, Alison Arngrim, and Dean Butler before she was invited to appear in an episode of the news talk show “Today”, hosted by Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb, and which covers topics such as politics, news, and entertainment among others. Lindsay could have also be seen in the news show “Extra with Billy Bush”, which was hosted by Renee Bargh and Mario Lopez and which covers business, music, and movies.

Lindsay’s latest appearance on TV was in 2015 when she guest starred in the talk show “Home & Family” hosted by Mark Steines and Debbie Matenopoulos, which is about home improvements, do-it-yourself crafts, and tips about parenting.

Working together with her twin sister

In most of the series and movies, Lindsay and her sister Sidney would play the same role, alternating in regards of which one of them was free (or not ill) that day, and one of the episodes of the “Little House on the Prairie” in which they portrayed different characters and appeared alongside each other was “The Godsister”. Sidney broke her arm a couple of times during the filming of the series, which is when Lindsay shot all the episodes. Sidney went on to star alone in the comedy drama movie “Hambone and Hillie” and the two then appeared together in several commercials for companies and products such as Doublemint gum, Kentucky Fried Chicken, and Mattel Toys among others.

In 2000, Sidney married William ‘Rocky’ Foster who was a horse breeder and they were together until 2009 when William died at the age of 55.

Love life and husband

In 1993, Lindsay met a man while she was working in Taos, New Mexico at a ski resort and they began dating shortly after that. They were together for over two years before Lindsay gave birth to their daughter Katlynn Danae but the two split after a year and Lindsay lost contact with the man. She will go on to meet Frank Dornan in 1999 when they were introduced by a mutual friend at a party and Frank accepted Lindsay’s daughter as his own and helped raise her. They married in 2001, but divorced several years later for unknown reasons.

Lindsay met Daniel Sanchez while she was shooting for the “Little House on the Prairie” when she was still a child, and they met once again in 2012 and fell in love. The two exchanged their vows on 5 July 2014 – they don’t have any children together while they are currently living in Los Angeles where Daniel is working as a businessman and running his own small company.

Hobbies and other interests

Lindsay’s favorite season is winter as she knows how to both ski and snowboard while she also likes summer as she enjoys tanning her skin under the sun and swimming in the ocean. She is a huge lover of animals and has volunteered numerous times at a local animal shelter during her teenage years and has had several pets over the years while her favorite animals are dogs and turtles.

She is keen on travelling and has been all around the USA for both work and pleasure while she has vacationed in Europe on several occasions visiting countries such as England and Greece among others.

She has her own favorite actors and actresses some of whom are Jim Carrey, Robert De Niro and Emma Watson, while some of her favorite movies are “Ace Venture: Pet Detective – When Nature calls”, the trilogy “The Godfather”, and the franchise “Harry Potter”.

Appearance and net worth

Lindsay is 50 years old. She has long brown hair and brown eyes, is 5ft 7ins (1.7m) tall, and weighs around 132lbs (60kgs). As of June 2020, her net worth is estimated at over $1 million.
