Masika Kalysha was given the name Masika Kalysha Tucker on June 7, 1985, in Chicago, Illinois. She is a Jonesboro, Georgia native of French Creole descent who spent her early years there. Kalysha finished her study and received her diploma from Mount Zion High School in Jonesboro in 2003.
Lashawna Threatt’s tragic death, however, compelled her to make a decision that would change the path of her life.
Kalysha relocated to Los Angeles, California, on August 11, 2011, to pursue her dreams of acting and modeling. This choice marked a turning point in her career as she strove to establish herself in the entertainment industry and achieve her objectives.
Kalysha’s musical career began in 2015 when she released the single “Andale” alongside Fetty Wap. This song has a different sound than her two previous singles, “No More” and “Hella Hollywood,” both of which were released earlier in the spring of 2015.
It borrowed components from the Fugees’ 1996 hit song “Ready or Not,” giving her music a distinctive flavor when “Hella Hollywood” was released in May 2015.
